Solitude – Developing Your Eye

Today’s challenge was two-fold: –

  • a) depict the word ‘solitude’ in a one of my photos
  • b) use the rule of thirds

If nothing else, the photo allows me to share a very special moment in my life.

Qutb Minar in Delhi, India. March-April, 2015

This photo was taken on my month long trip to India, March-April 2015, using the iPad’s camera. These ruins are of the Qutb Minar (sometimes spelt Qutub) in Delhi.

This little princess stood perfectly still without any prompting from me. This photo still gives me chills, from a historical standpoint. I thought of what life might have been like at the Qutb Minar, the lives of the people then. What were their customs like? How did they dress? Were little girls free to stroll the hallowed grounds?

The Qutb Minar is the tallest tower in India and was built in the 12th Century as a symbol of Muslim dominance in that country.

For information on the Qutb Minar, visit the Delhi Tourism site.

Have you ever visited India? What was your experience like? Please share your photos if you had taken any of time there.

Thank you! Smile!
