Giving birth is undoubtedly one of the most thrilling experiences I have had in my life. I carried her for almost nine full months and seeing her on that fateful July morning in 2008 was a blessing. Expectant mothers go through a range of emotions – elation, uncertainty, fear, anxiety, joy, concern. I guess it depends on the circumstances we as mothers find ourselves in.
Similarly, we can be expectant of any number of other things in life. It would seem that expectancy is largely associated with something positive. We can become expectant at the news of a job, a new home, the doctor’s report about the last battery of tests, the visit of loved one or the paycheck at the end of the month.
For 2017, I am expectant of good things. I have decided to try new things and to be bold about certain things in my life. This year began with that air of expectancy and I cannot say why; so, I have come to accept that all the universe is conspiring to ensure that I achieve my goals and/or learn invaluable lessons along the way.
For one, I have started this second blog and I can only imagine the kind of work I will face to keep this and the UYJewelry page going at an above satisfactory level.
Secondly, I have been redefining how I see UYJewelry and the direction the brand should take. I am currently seeking the assistance of an IT and design professional to revamp the business cards ad other merchandising items.
Also, I am looking forward to participating in a garden craft show which I have never done before. I have new display ideas and I am hoping that everything is a success. I really want to make more people aware of UYJ as I enjoy making jewelry and look forward to the day when I can reach a larger clientele.
One vital point I must make though: expecting something good does not cancel out setbacks or bad things from happening. I believe that in the moments of setbacks, we can still achieve the bigger picture once we remain dedicated to the task at hand.
So be expectant this year, this week, today. Your dreams are infinite.
